The objective of providing health service at the doorsteps of the locals, Halesi Tuwachung Municipality of Khotang has once again conducted free health camps in various wards. Aiming to provide health service to those people, the rural municipality has been conducting free health camps in Dikuwa, Bahunidanda, Mangaltar, Arkhaule and Rajapani.
Bimala Rai, deputy mayor of the municipality, informed Republica that the health camp, which kicked off from Dikuwa on Friday, would conclude on Tuesday in Mangaltar. One of the major objectives of the camp is to identify women suffering from uterine prolapse and arrange treatment for them.
Patients are not just offered free checkup and counselling regarding problems of uterus and family planning but are also provided with free medicines, informed health coordinator Ram Kumar Bhagat. Among the 73 females and 25 males who participated in the camp in Dikuwa, 13 of the women suffered from uterus related problems.
