Kathmandu, April 21 : Nepali Congress President and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has cautioned that the totalitarian regime was about to begin in the country.Speaking in a greeting exchanging programmme organized on the occasion of Nepali New Year by NC Kathmandu district committee here today,
President Deuba said, the Prime Minister has centralized all power in him to begin such system as investigation department, revenue department among other departments were brought under him.He further said that the party leaders and cadres should be united for the reforms of party organization. He also opined for giving full share to party departments and other office bearers.
Former PM Deuba said that there were mainly two reasons behind party’s defeat in the past local, provincial and federal elections and they were intra party groupism and election alliance between CPN (UML) and CPN (Maoist Centre).General Secretary Dr Shashanka Koirala urged President Deuba to lead the party ahead forging consensus. He also opined for reaching party’s principles and good deed among the people.
Leader Prakash Man Singh claimed that the NC faced defeat in the elections after the party failed to adopt democratic values and party statute.Similarly, leaders Prakash Sharan Mahat, Nabindra Raj Joshi, Ambika Basnet, Gagan Thapa, Bhimsen Das Pradhan, Rajendra KC, Kathmandu Metropolitan city deputy Mayor Hari Prabha Khadgi and Kathmandu district committee President Sabuj Baniya had suggested the leadership leading the party in a right path after ending all kinds of groupism.
